However, with all the small (and large) bits of daily waste, a bin quickly becomes essential. A rigid bin takes up too much space—even when empty (and risks tipping over at the first turn)—so we often end up with a plastic bag hanging from a cupboard handle, a hook, or an armrest (speaking from experience!). 

Result: it’s not practical at all, and even less aesthetic!

Flextrash offers a simple solution to this problem: a flexible, lightweight, and washable bin that attaches exactly where you really need it.

Flextrash is a flexible, modular bin, specifically designed for small spaces. Thanks to its various attachments, it installs easily in a car, camper van, motorhome, or boat, exactly where you need it.

We're sharing all the reasons why this nomadic bin won us over:

• A machine-washable bin: especially practical for travel! In case of a stain, leak, or bad odor, the fabric part detaches easily thanks to its hook-and-loop system, and can then be washed according to the care instructions.
• Numerous attachments available: Flextrash installs exactly where you need it, in a car, van, boat, or at the campsite.
  
• Replaceable parts: the various elements are available separately. In case of loss or damage, you only need to replace the affected part rather than the entire bin.
  
• Responsible and sustainable design: the outer shell, called the Coverbag, is made from recycled plastic bottles. The custom-fit bin liners offered by the brand are also made from recycled plastic.

1. Choose the size according to how you travel

On our Casambu e-shop, these travel bins come in 2 sizes to adapt to your needs and your travel style.

The right size mainly depends on the available space, the number of travelers, and how often you want to empty the bin.

Available sizes: 

• The 5-liter (M) size: offers a good balance for a camper van.
• The 9-liter (L) size: better suited for families, meals eaten at the campsite, or trips where waste collection points are more widely spaced.

Note that the lids for both sizes are identical. The difference lies in the depth of the fabric bag.

2. Choose the attachments to install your Flextrash bin (almost) anywhere

The appeal of Flextrash lies as much in its flexible shape as in its interchangeable attachments.

You choose the bin, then the support suited to your vehicle or use. The same Flextrash nomadic bin can thus go from the car to the campsite, then to the boat.

The brand has developed a complete range of clips designed to adapt to all possible configurations. Before choosing, first identify where the bin will be used most often.

For the car, van, or motorhome

• The Flipclip (headrest attachment): Ideal for journeys in a car, van, or camper. It attaches in an instant to the metal posts of headrests to keep the bin within reach of passengers.

• The Closed Seatclip (headrest attachment) is intended for seats without exposed posts but that have an opening.

• The Dashclip (glove box attachment) hooks onto the glove box or a compartment with a lid.

• The Wallmount (wall attachment) sits on a wall or inside a cabinet, using 3M adhesive or screws. It is the perfect option for hanging the bin inside a cupboard door, in the kitchen area of a van, or in the cabin of a boat.

• The Vacuclip (suction cup attachment) uses a suction cup on a perfectly smooth surface, such as glass, metal, stainless steel, or aluminum. It is not suitable for laminate surfaces.

For the table

• The Tableclip (table support): thanks to its adjustable clamp (10 to 40 mm thick), it attaches to the edge of a table or countertop without drilling. Practical while preparing a meal, it allows you to discard peels and wrappers directly without making multiple trips.

For the boat

• The Tubeclip: specially designed to attach to tubes from 15 to 40 mm. It naturally finds its place on the handrail of a sailboat, the bow/stern pulpit of a boat, or tent poles. Its rotating mechanism allows the opening to be oriented both vertically and horizontally.

• The Vacuclip (suction cup attachment) is also useful on the smooth polyester of a hull or on a window.

For bivouacking and camping

• The Campstick is a lightweight aluminum spike, adjustable in height, to be planted in soft ground like grass or sand.

• The Treehugger (tree attachment) uses a non-slip strap to fix the bin around a tree or branch, without permanent installation.

Thanks to this modular system, one single bin can follow you from the dashboard to the picnic table, and then to the bodywork once you're settled at your spot.

Our small tip: remember to also check the nature of the support: a suction cup requires a smooth surface, the Tableclip a compatible edge, and the Campstick sufficiently soft ground. It is this choice of attachment, even more than the color, that will make your Flextrash bin a truly practical everyday accessory.

3. Choose the color of your Flextrash bin

Several colors are available on the Casambu e-shop to match your Flextrash bin to the atmosphere of your vehicle or boat.

You can opt for black, sober and timeless; gray, discreet and easy to coordinate; or add a touch of color with ocean green or denim blue. Sand beige, lighter and more natural, blends perfectly with interiors featuring soft, warm tones.

Finally, there are also biodegradable Flextrash bin liners, specially designed for the Flextrash M (5 liters) and Flextrash L (9 liters) bins.

Good organization on board often relies on small, well-placed equipment.
